Bible Friends Privacy Policy

Bible Friends is an iOS app by Plexiri for Scripture-aware conversations with biblical characters. This policy explains what information the app and its API use to provide chat, voice, subscription, and free-message features.

Information You Provide

• Chat and council messages. When you send a text message, the app sends that message, the selected character or council mode, response mode, recent conversation context, and a brief local memory summary from earlier turns in the same conversation to the Bible Friends API so the Worker can generate a reply.
• Voice input. If you choose to record audio, the app sends the recorded audio and content type to the API for transcription. Microphone use is optional and controlled by iOS permission prompts.
• Speech playback. If you request spoken replies, the app sends reply text and the selected character to the API so it can generate audio for playback.
• Subscription access. The app sends an anonymous install identifier and, when available, App Store transaction information so the API can verify subscription access and apply the free-message allowance.

Information Stored on Your Device

The app stores chat and council history, personal reflections and notes, journey progress and reminder settings, preferences, and an optional synthesized-audio cache locally on your device using iOS app storage. You can search, export selected local data to a JSON file, clear it, or enable automatic deletion where offered. The app also stores an anonymous install identifier in app storage and the iOS Keychain so free-message and subscription access can remain consistent across launches. Local content is not uploaded unless it is included as conversation context or a brief local memory summary when you continue a chat, or you explicitly choose to export or share it through iOS.

Information Stored by the API

The Bible Friends API does not intentionally store your chat text, council text, submitted audio, transcripts, or generated speech audio. To enforce access and understand feature usage, the Worker stores hashed access keys and aggregate usage records in Cloudflare KV, including counts for chat, council, spoken-response, and streaming requests. Daily usage counts are kept for up to 45 days.

How Information Is Used

• To generate Scripture-aware chat and council replies.
• To transcribe optional voice input and synthesize optional spoken replies.
• To verify subscriptions, apply the free-message allowance, and prevent abuse.
• To monitor reliability, errors, and aggregate product usage.

Service Providers

Bible Friends uses Cloudflare Workers, Cloudflare KV, and Cloudflare AI to run the API and AI features. The Worker may use AI models made available through Cloudflare AI, including xAI models, for chat, transcription, and text-to-speech. These service providers process data only to provide, secure, and maintain the app features described in this policy, and Plexiri requires them to provide the same or equal protection for the personal data they process for Bible Friends. Subscription purchases and subscription verification are handled through Apple StoreKit and the App Store Server API.

Technical Logs

Cloudflare, Apple, and other infrastructure providers may process standard technical data such as IP address, user agent, request time, request path, and diagnostic logs for security, abuse prevention, debugging, and service operation.

Sharing

Plexiri does not sell your personal information. Information is shared with service providers only as needed to operate the app, process purchases, provide AI features, maintain security, or comply with legal obligations.

Retention

Local chat and council history, reflections, journey progress, settings, and cached audio remain until you delete them, use the app's clearing or automatic-deletion controls, clear the app's data, or delete the app. The API keeps aggregate usage and free-access records as needed to provide the free-message allowance, subscription access, reliability monitoring, and abuse prevention. Chat content and audio are processed for the request and are not intentionally retained by this Worker.

Children

Bible Friends is not directed to children under 13. Do not use the app to submit personal information about a child.

Your Choices

• You can use text chat without granting microphone access.
• You can disable microphone access in iOS Settings.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple.
• You can remove local app data by deleting the app from your device.

Important Limits

Bible Friends is for reflection, learning, and devotional curiosity. It is not a substitute for Scripture, pastoral care, professional medical, legal, financial, or emergency help.

This policy may be updated as Bible Friends changes. The updated date above will reflect the current version.
